Program Overview

November – Communicating Change: The Main Plaza Renovation Project at the City Centre Café at San Fernando Cathedral. With communication representatives from the city of San Antonio, Bexar County and the San Fernando rectory, attendees discovered that a true grassroots approach was taken when it came to communicating the Main Plaza Renovation Project. Through well planned strategies such as focus groups, these professionals were able to address the fears and concerns that such a project would have on all parties concerned from the San Fernando parishioners to local business owners. In addition, they stayed in touch with these groups to make sure that their needs were being met.

December – We kicked off the holiday season with our annual Silent Auction and Holiday Party at the Holt Center, on the campus of Trinity University. AWC members and guests bid on 30 silent auction items while enjoying a variety of appetizers and desserts, including a chocolate fountain. We raised more than $1,200 for the Ajay Castro Scholarship Fund.

January – The New Year, for many, is a time to get organized both professionally and personally. Professional organizer Joan Kearl got us off on the right foot with great tips and motivators. From making a master list to time management and keeping track of your time, Kearl imparted years of experience during her program and left us wanting to learn more.
