When opportunity knocked...

…our president Sharon Lozano and husband Gabe packed up and headed to California! All of us with AWC love to see our friends and colleagues move on to bigger and better things, but she will really be missed!

In the meantime, I will try to fill her shoes as interim president, and I must say she left a wonderful roadmap behind. She and the board laid out a wonderful spring lineup of programs you won’t want to miss.
Due to the changes, there are two positions now available on the board; VP of communications and secretary. It’s a great opportunity to grab lunch and really brainstorm with other board members on programs, job opportunities and so much more. Actually, it’s what got me hooked!

I now have a room full of “go-to” people in every type of communications field in town. People I really know and respect that are willing to share their experiences and guidance. Well, I didn’t expect for this opportunity to knock on my door, but I thank the board for knocking and welcome the challenge.
