2008 Proliner Awards
The deadline to enter your outstanding work to be considered for a Proliner Award has been extended to Thursday, Feb. 28. Click here for the entry form and general rules.
Open to all Central and South Texas-area communicators, professional and student, the Proliner Awards honor outstanding professional achievement in communications, reflecting the importance of effective communication in an era of information overload. Eighty pieces of work were recognized at the 2007 Headliner Proliner Awards Banquet.
In order to win, you must submit your outstanding pieces of work in communication categories including marketing, advertising, graphic arts, public relations, journalism, news, radio, photography and web-design. All entries are judged by an out-of-town chapter of AWC. These scores are then averaged to determine if an Award of Excellence or an Award of Merit has been earned.

2008 Clarion Awards Competition
In addition to the local Proliner Awards, you may also enter you outstanding pieces of work in the national AWC awards competition, known as the Clarion Awards. Named for the medieval Clarion trumpet known for its clarity, the Clarion Awards honor excellence in clear, concise communications. The Early Bird discount rate is available for entries received by Feb. 29. The final deadline is March 31. To register online or for more details, visit www.womcom.org.
One of our very own members, Mary Anthony, received a Clarion last year for Most Improved Online Newsletter for her work editing On Trinity Hill.
“It was wonderful to receive such a prestigious national award,” said Anthony, who is serving a second term on the Clarion Awards Task Force. “I encourage all communicators to submit one or more entries in this year’s competition.”
